UXIA’s self-titled debut is not just a record—it’s a statement. With a clear vision and relentless dedication to pushing musical boundaries, UXIA invites listeners to join them on a journey of transformation and discovery.
Vocals - Steve Marek
Guitar - Reed Reimer
Bass - Dave Whitmer
Keys - Jesse James
Drums - Leigh Underwood
UXIA formed in 2023 upon a split of the band Portentum. Leigh, Reed, and Liz Ziegler (keys and vocals) brought aboard Dave to play bass, and shortly after Liz replaced herself with Jesse. Not long after, Dave had Steve audition for vocals, and the rest is modern history.
With Jesse using a full workstation keyboard, and iPad as a canvas for sound opportunities there isn't a limit to the instruments available, as evidenced by the cello and saxophone that make appearances on the album. Pair that with Reed on 8-string guitars, Leigh on a kit tailor-made for progressive metal, and Dave's amazing compositions on bass, they weave a colorful tapestry upon which Steve's vocals arewritten.
Bringing together their love of death metal, prog metal, film score, and storytelling, it didn't take long for UXIA to discover what their true voice would be.
The album was meticulously recorded by Will Maravelas at 14:59 and Reed Reimer at Fable Factory , with Reed Reimer also handling mixing and mastering duties to deliver a final product that is immersive, powerful, and sonically rich.
For fans of Porcupine Tree , Opeth , and Mastodon , UXIA offers a captivating and unforgettable progressive metal experience.
